Application-Specific Issues In Natural Language Interfacer Development For A Diagnostic Expert System

This paper describes a natural language interface developed for an expert system, Page-7~ The interface accepts English descriptions of observed symptoms and maps those descriptions to hypotheses used as initial input to the Page-X diagnosis system. The interface describes an applicationindependent linguistic interface and an application-specific hypothesis identification component.
